Terms of Service for TravelYou
Effective date: October 3, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Byte Sized App ("we," "us") governing your use of the TravelYou mobile application (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.
1. The service
TravelYou lets you organize photos into trips, plot them on a map using the location data embedded in the photos, and optionally share trips with others via a link. The core experience works on your device; account features (syncing, sharing) require an account.
2. Accounts
- You need an account to use the online features (sync and sharing). You sign in with Google, or — on iOS — with Apple.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for all activity under your account.
- Provide accurate information. One account per person.
- We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, and we may remove content that violates them (see Section 4).
3. Your content
- You keep all rights to your photos and trip content. We claim no ownership over anything you create or upload.
- By sharing a trip, you grant us a limited license to host, store, display, and deliver that content only as needed to provide the App (e.g., so people with the share link can view it). This license ends when you stop sharing or delete the trip.
- You are responsible for making sure you have the right to share the photos you put in a public trip (for example, photos of other people or private places — you're responsible for how you handle those).
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Upload or share content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights (including privacy or intellectual property).
- Share content you don't have the right to share.
- Impersonate others, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
- Upload malware, or attempt to probe, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the App, its servers, or other users' data.
- Circumvent any technical limits we place on the service.
We can remove content that violates this section, and we can suspend or terminate accounts that do. To report offensive or abusive content, email us at the address in Section 10 — we review reports and act on them.
5. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party infrastructure (Supabase for authentication and database hosting, Cloudflare for photo storage, Google Cloud for our server, Sentry for crash reporting, and Google/Apple for optional sign-in). We are not responsible for these providers' outages or for how they handle data — but we select them to process data on our behalf in line with our Privacy Policy.
6. Our intellectual property
The App itself — its code, design, text, logo, and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don't give you any right to use them other than to use the App as intended.
7. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy (https://travelyou.app/privacy). It is incorporated into these Terms.
8. No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the preceding 12 months (which, as the App is free, is zero) — except where a law expressly provides otherwise.
10. Changes and termination
- You can stop using the App and delete your account (and everything in it) at any time by contacting us.
- We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll note it before it takes effect. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.
- Contact: [email protected]
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
